Two very exciting things happened at this show... well exciting for me anyway.
First, Maggie was able to be registered. I also entered her in the show and she won Best Black New Zealand both shows, unfortunately... she was the only black new zealand entered. Blah...
Second, this was the first show in which I entered Silver Fox. Pepperjack took 4/6 both shows. But I think he has stiff competition. I am pleased with Pepperjack regardless. Colby on the other hand didn't do quite as well. He took 2/2. Although, I love his coloring and his silvering, and his fur, he is turning out very narrow in those hips and both judges agreed with me. Sherie does too... and so she gave me the blue buck that she had entered. I'm debating whether or not to keep Colby. I love that fur... but that gives me two bucks that are brothers. I'm not sure I need to do that.
I took a pair of blues and they won BOV and BOSV... again, they were the only ones in attendance. On the second show the doe was DQ's for a white toenail. SAD!
I also took a young broken doe out of Houston's last litter... she took 2/7 in both shows. She had some fabulous comments so I think she's a keeper!
No legs earned at this show... but Maggie got registered and I was able to sell a rabbit.
Unbelievably, I left Colby at the show. I got 20 minutes out and had to turn around and go back to get him. I've always wondered how people could do that... now I know. Accidents happen. Blah
